Absolutely! Whether you are considering getting certified as an EMT or if you just want to learn more about EMS, you are more than welcome to attend our meetings as a noncertified member, aka an Observer. We are happy to assist you in your certification journey, and will welcome you as a member of our community. However, to volunteer at CUEMS events as a provider, it is mandatory to be a certified EMT or paramedic, apply to CUEMS as a provider, and provide the proper documentation.
I am interested in becoming an EMT. How can I get started?
The first thing we can recommend is to take our BLS Certification class, which we have been hosting since Fall 2023! Our classes are $50, four hours, and held on campus on the weekends. Click here to learn more and sign up: BLS Classes
I am an EMT but am not IV certified. How can I get this certification?
We can help! Starting Spring 2024, our members have been collaborating with Stadium Medical to host an IV Certification class on campus. You can click here to learn more and sign up: IV Classes
Where does fundraised money go?
Since we are a non-profit group, all of our money goes toward training, gear for events, uniforms, and more opportunities for our club members.
What events has CUEMS worked in the past?
We have worked so many different events! We have done the Colfax Marathon, IRONMAN triathlons, Buffalo Bike Classic, Bike MS, Disaster Dash, and so many others. Also, we have trained with FEMA, Rapid Response Paramedic, AMR, Boulder Search and Rescue, and more local groups! CUEMS loves to collaborate with our local EMS community and look forward to further outreach!
When/where are meetings?
Our meetings are typically biweekly on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 PM in the University Memorial Center(UMC). You can sign up to get emails from us about upcoming meetings by filling out the google form on thislink. You can also follow our Instagram here for more important updates!
